Latitude Handsfree Microphone Failure

Okay, Renault Latitude owners, I need your wisdom. My 2011 Latitude diesel, with 230752 km, has a seriously annoying fault. The hands-free microphone has died, rendering telephony useless. The error memory is storing an error related to it. Could the infotainment system be defective? Anyone else experienced this before? I'm facing an 815€ repair.

I had something similar with my Latitude. Telephony was a nightmare. Is the volume control affected, too? I found ambient noise got amplified massively making calls impossible. Could be a Bluetooth issue as well.

Volume control affected... now that you mention it, yes! It does seem overly sensitive. Ambient noise, definitely a problem. It's like driving through a wind tunnel during calls. But how did you fix it? Is there a simple workaround, or am I really looking at a whole new audio system?

Sadly, no simple fix for me. The symptoms sound identical, though. I'd suggest getting it looked at properly by a workshop. It's likely the infotainment system, as you suspected. Better to get it sorted than drive around with a useless phone system.

Appreciate the confirmation. Seems like I'm heading to the workshop, then. Thanks for sharing your experience; at least I know I'm not alone and the garage isn't trying to pull a fast one! I will post an outcome when I know more.
