Latitude Hard Start Stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Renault Latitude with a gasoline engine is experiencing hard starting, frequent stalling when idling, and an illuminated check engine light. The issue was traced to a defective camshaft sensor, potentially caused by a faulty encoder wheel on the camshaft, leading to incorrect ignition timing. The problem was confirmed by a workshop, and the repair involved replacing the encoder wheel.

Thanks. Yes, I scanned it. The error code points to a defective camshaft sensor. Could the encoder wheel on the camshafts be the problem, causing incorrect ignition timing?

That's what happened to me. The encoder wheel was faulty, making the camshaft sensor report bad data. I'd suggest a workshop for diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the help. The workshop confirmed it was the encoder wheel on the camshaft, causing the camshaft sensor to fail. The repair cost 695€. Thanks again!

I have a Latitude too, and that sounds familiar. Could be a faulty camshaft sensor. Did you scan it for error codes? That should help.
