Latitude Terminal 15 Ignition Error

My 2011 Renault Latitude diesel is throwing a 'Terminal 15 ignition positive interrupted' error. The engine won't even start! I checked the error memory myself, and that's what it says. The computer suggests it's a bad cable or plug. I've only got 45493 km on the clock. Could it be the starter solenoid or a circuit break? I'm guessing maybe a wiring harness issue or some kind of voltage drop somewhere?

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra. That error usually points towards a problem in the electrical system. Check the fuse box first; a blown fuse can cause that issue. Terminal 15, by the way, refers to the switched positive power supply when the ignition is on. Have you tested the voltage at the starter solenoid?

Voltage at the starter solenoid? I wouldn't even know where to begin. Where exactly should I be sticking the multimeter, and what voltage should I be seeing? I'm guessing it's not a simple fix?

You'll want to check the voltage at the small wire connected to the starter solenoid when someone tries to start the car. It should be close to battery voltage, around 12V. Given your limited experience, and the potential for wiring harness issues, I'd advise against poking around too much yourself. It's best to take it to a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. I was hoping it was a simple fix, but I guess not. I'll book it into the workshop; they quoted me 95€ to fix it, so hopefully, it won't be worse than that!
