Legend Alarm System Error
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Honda Legend is experiencing a malfunctioning alarm system with a siren communication error. This issue could stem from a security problem or a fault detection issue, potentially caused by a defective cable or plug. A similar problem was resolved by checking the wiring harness and connectors for the siren, where a corroded or loose connection was found. The recommended solution is to have a workshop inspect and repair any damaged wiring, which was confirmed to be the issue in this case.

When you say 'wiring issue', can you be more specific? Where did you focus, and what diagnostic steps did you take before finding the fault? I want to avoid dismantling the whole system.

If I recall, the fault was in the loom near the siren. The wire was brittle and fractured from age and exposure. My issue sounds similar, so don't dig too deep. Take it to a workshop to get it done right and save time. A good shop should pinpoint the wiring issue easily.

Thanks for the guidance. I took it to a trusted workshop, and they confirmed a damaged wire, as you described. The repair cost is quoted at 95€ – a reasonable price. Thanks again!

I also own a Honda Legend, and this sounds familiar. My alarm refused to disarm, and it was a subtle wiring issue. Have you checked the wiring harness and connectors for the siren? It could be a corroded or loose connection causing a signal problem.
