Legend hybrid high voltage system error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Honda Legend hybrid is experiencing a high-voltage system error, causing the engine to shut off intermittently and reducing engine power. The issue is accompanied by a battery warning light, suggesting potential causes such as a faulty voltage sensor, inverter issue, or defective hybrid battery. Yes, I am also seeing a battery warning light. Is it possible that a faulty voltage sensor triggers this error? Or could this be related to an inverter issue?

Based on my experience, you could be looking at a heavily discharged or defective hybrid battery. The electrical fault caused a constant battery drain. While it could be the voltage sensor or even the inverter, my issue turned out to be the hybrid battery itself. I'd suggest getting it professionally diagnosed at a workshop.

Thank you for the information. I took your advice and brought the car to a workshop; the diagnosis confirmed a defective hybrid battery. The repair cost 290€. Your insight was invaluable.

I have a Legend, though not the hybrid. I recall a similar situation a while back. Do you also get a battery warning light before the engine shuts down? It felt like the whole system was losing power, like when a dimmer switch starts flickering right before the bulb burns out.
