I haven't specifically checked the air struts for leaks. I was primarily focused on the compressor and its connections, given the error code. Is it possible for a small leak to cause the compressor to fail completely, or are we perhaps talking about two separate issues here?

Well, in my case, the leak put extra strain on the compressor, causing it to eventually burn out. It's possible yours is similar. Best bet is probably to get it to a workshop, they can run a proper diagnostic. They used dye in my case to find the leak.

Appreciate the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out it was a faulty connection causing the compressor to work overtime and eventually fail. The repair, including replacing the faulty connection, came to about 95€. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!

That does sound familiar. I had a similar issue with my old Audi A6. Same symptoms – leaning, error messages, and ride height problems. Have you checked the air struts themselves for any obvious leaks or damage? That was the first thing I looked at.
