Lexus CT200h lighting fault

Hey, I'm having a weird electrical issue with my 2016 Lexus CT200h (hybrid engine). The lights are acting up – sometimes they just switch on randomly, and I'm getting a 'fault in the lighting' error stored in the memory. I've checked the fuses, and they seem fine. Could it be the headlight switch itself? Anyone experienced this before?

Sounds like a headlight switch issue, yeah. But it could also be a wiring problem. Have you noticed if it happens more often when you hit bumps or turn the wheel? Sometimes a faulty cable or plug connection can cause weird electrical gremlins.

That's a good point about the bumps and turning. I'll pay closer attention to that. If it is the switch or the wiring, is it something I could potentially fix myself, or am I better off taking it to a workshop?

Based on the error code and your description, it really does point towards a defective cable or connection at the switch. While technically you could try to fix it yourself, diagnosing electrical issues can be tricky without the right tools and knowledge. Considering the potential for messing something else up, I would suggest visiting a workshop.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were right – it was a faulty connection at the light switch. They replaced the connector, and it cost me 95€. All good now!
