Lexus ES AC Failure

My 2009 Lexus ES with a gasoline engine has a completely dead AC. It won't cool, and the system doesn't even seem to switch on. I've checked the fuses, but I'm no mechanic. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar AC issue with my old Opel Astra. Did you notice any weird noises beforehand, or a drop in AC efficiency?

No strange noises that I can recall. The AC was working perfectly one day, and then just stopped the next. What happened with your Astra in the end?

Mine was gradual, but it ended up being a faulty valve. Since yours is sudden, it could be a refrigerant leak, but really I'm no expert. I ended up taking my Astra to a shop for diagnosis, it was too complex for me.

Okay, thanks. Sounds like I'm heading for the shop too. Hopefully, it's nothing too major... Turns out it was a defect in individual valves of the AC, cost me 1000€ in repairs!
