Lexus ES MAF sensor failure
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Lexus ES hybrid is experiencing higher fuel consumption, engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. These symptoms suggest a potential mass air flow (MAF) sensor failure. It is recommended to perform a diagnostic check at a workshop to confirm the issue before proceeding with replacement. The workshop confirmed the MAF sensor failure, and the repair cost was 365€.

Thanks for the quick response. Did you also experience the stalling and smoke? I'm trying to confirm if it's definitively the MAF before replacing it.

Yes, stalling at idle and smoke were present. Given all your symptoms, I suggest a diagnostic check at a trusted workshop. It's best to confirm before you spend money.

I had similar symptoms on my Lexus ES. Is your mass air flow sensor the issue? I would check that first. Sensor failure can cause all the problems you describe.
