The warning light flickers more noticeably during the initial cold start. Where should I inspect the sensor wiring for potential vulnerabilities or points of failure?

Yeah, the cold start flickering seals it, pointing straight to that sensor or its wiring. Honestly, tracing electrical gremlins can be a pain. Unless you're really comfortable with a multimeter and wiring diagrams, the best course of action is probably getting it checked by a workshop. They can pinpoint the fault quickly and avoid any further complications.

A trusted workshop confirmed a faulty engine oil temperature sensor with a defective connection, as suspected. The repair, including parts and labor, was a reasonable 95€.

Sounds like a bad oil temp sensor for sure. The symptoms line up. Is the light constant, or does it flicker, especially when the engine's cold? Have you checked the sensor's wiring for any obvious damage or loose connections?
