Wiring and connectors on the fuel pump... Any specific areas to look at? Thinking it might be the likely cause as you said...

On mine, it was the connector itself that plugs into the fuel pump module. Look for corrosion or damaged pins. Give the wires a wiggle while the car is running (if you can get it to run). But proceed with caution. Otherwise, better have it checked in a workshop. These new cars are more complex than they seem.

Thanks for the tip. It was indeed the connector. Replaced it for 95€ and the car runs smoothly now.

I had similar issues with my ES. Symptoms sound a lot like a fuel pump problem. I would suggest checking the fuel pump wiring and connectors. A bad connection there can cause all sorts of erratic behavior. Have you already checked the fuel injectors?
