Lexus ES transmission fault

Experiencing transmission issues with my 2012 Lexus ES gasoline, around 97,670 km on it. Engine warning light and sometimes transmission light pop up. Codes show a transmission oil pressure sensor fault. Occasionally goes into emergency mode, shifts roughly, and I hear grinding. Could low gearbox oil be causing the sensor issue? Anyone else dealt with this?

I had a similar issue with my ES, though I don't recall the exact fault code. Is the car jerking when shifting gears too?

Yeah, there's definitely some jerking, especially between 2nd and 3rd. Did topping off the oil resolve the problem for you, or was it something more involved?

In my case, the problem persisted. I'd recommend getting it checked out at a trusted workshop. Better safe than sorry when it comes to transmissions!

Thanks for the advice! Gearbox oil was critically low. Workshop confirmed the pressure sensor was faulty due to the low oil. New sensor plus oil change cost 365€. Runs smooth now!
