Lexus GS Door Lock Failure
Summary of the thread
The 2011 Lexus GS hybrid had an issue where the doors wouldn't lock or unlock using the fob or internal switches. The suspected cause was a faulty door contact signal, potentially due to a defective cable or plug connection. It was suggested to check the wiring loom between the door and the frame for chafing or broken wires. Ultimately, taking the car to a workshop resolved the issue, as they identified and repaired a defective cable connection.

Thanks! Where exactly can I find this wiring loom? What damage should I look for?

It's usually behind a rubber boot between the door and the frame. Look for cracked or split insulation. Honestly, though, I took mine to a shop. Best 95€ I ever spent. Could save you some time, and potentially make things worse.

Thanks for the recommendation. Going to the workshop was the right move, as you suggested. They found a defective cable connection and fixed the damaged component quickly. The problem is resolved. I appreciate your suggestion!

I've got a GS too, and that sounds familiar. Before you tear everything apart, check the wiring loom where it passes from the body to the door. They're known for chafing and broken wires. Any warning lights on the dash?
