Lexus GS Hybrid Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Lexus GS hybrid with 155,082 km was experiencing engine overheating and had an error stored in the error memory. The initial suspicion was a bypass valve malfunction. However, after advice to check for vacuum leaks, a vacuum leak near the intake manifold was identified as the root cause. The issue was resolved at a workshop, confirming the vacuum leak as the problem.

Interesting. Where specifically on the vacuum system should I focus my attention?

For me, it was near the intake manifold. But honestly, given the overheating, I would suggest bringing it to a workshop. A smoke test will find any leak quickly. Fuel efficiency will also suffer if uncorrected.

Thank you for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a vacuum leak as you suggested. It was a minor issue that has now been resolved. Repair cost was 0€.

I had a similar problem with my Audi A6. Same symptoms, though the root cause was a vacuum leak affecting the bypass valve. Have you checked your vacuum system for leaks? It might be a consequential error.
