Lexus GS Solar Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Lexus GS hybrid is experiencing a solar sensor fault, leading to low heating output. Diagnostics suggest a defective cable or plug connection as the cause. Erratic sensor readings were confirmed, similar to a past issue with an Audi A4. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle checked at a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair, which resolved the issue for a cost of 95€.

Yes, I have checked the sensor readings. The values appear erratic and inconsistent with ambient daylight conditions. Did your Audi A4 exhibit comparable symptoms prior to resolution?

Yes, definitely. The sensor readings were all over the place on my Audi too. Based on my experience, it's probably best to get it checked out at a workshop. They'll have the right tools and expertise to diagnose the wiring properly.

Understood. Thanks for sharing your experience. I will proceed with a workshop visit. The issue was indeed the solar sensor cable, and the repair cost 95€.

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my 2016 Audi A4. The climate control was acting strangely. Did you check the sensor's readings with a scan tool? It might give you a better indication of what's going on before you start tearing things apart.
