Lexus GX Hybrid Battery Sensor Issue

Interesting! So, the battery sensor was the culprit? Before this whole mess started, I hadn't really noticed any issues with the charging. Everything seemed normal. The car was charging as expected, so I'm really puzzled by this sudden failure. How did you figure out it was the sensor? Did you do any specific tests, or did you just take it to a shop?

I initially suspected the alternator, but after a bit of digging, my mechanic pointed to the battery sensor. I don't have the equipment to test it myself. If you're not comfortable poking around with a multimeter, I'd suggest taking it to a trusted shop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly and replace the sensor if needed.

You were spot on! It was indeed the battery sensor causing all the mayhem. A new sensor was installed, and the car is back to its old self! Final cost: 315€.

Sounds rough! I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series, though it wasn't a hybrid. Same symptoms though: the car was showing battery warnings and struggling to start. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty battery sensor as well. Was your battery charging normally before all this started?
