Thanks. I haven't checked the oil pressure sensor yet. Could a bad sensor really cause the loud mechanical noises, or are those noises more likely from low oil pressure?

Well, in my case, the noises weren't as loud as you describe. With those symptoms, and since you've already changed the oil, it might be more than just a sensor. Best to get it checked out by a workshop before things get worse.

I appreciate the insights. I had the vehicle inspected, as you advised. The diagnosis was a defective oil pump, so it needed to be replaced. The total repair cost was 755€. Thanks again for your help.

That sounds worrying. I had a similar issue with my old BMW, but it was a diesel. The oil pressure light kept coming on, especially when the engine was warm. Did you check the oil pressure sensor? It might be faulty and giving you a false reading.
