Lexus GX Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Lexus GX hybrid with 160,000 km is experiencing overheating issues. The suspected cause is a problem with the electric fan, specifically a faulty connection. It is suggested to inspect the cable and plug connection near the fan motor, as this is a common weak point. The issue was confirmed to be a corroded connector on the fan, which was resolved at a workshop.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly should I be looking for that connection? Is it easy to spot, or do I need to remove a bunch of stuff to get to it?

On my Volvo, it was right near the fan motor itself, but I'm not sure about the Lexus. Best bet is to visually inspect around the fan assembly. If you're not comfortable poking around, probably worth taking it to a workshop. A defective cable or plug connection is the likely cause.

Thanks again for the help! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – it was a corroded connector on the fan. Cost me 95€ to fix. Appreciate the advice!

Sounds familiar. I had similar overheating issues with my old Volvo V70. Turned out to be a faulty connection to the radiator fan. Have you checked the cable and plug connection of the electric fan? That's a common weak point.
