Lexus GX Transfer Case ABS Issue

Thanks, the Volvo comparison is interesting. I do have intermittent ABS sensor faults recorded, but dismissed them as spurious. Could you elaborate on the specific ABS sensor faults you encountered with your XC90, and whether they were consistently present or intermittent? Was there a specific diagnostic routine you used to isolate the faulty sensor?

The ABS faults on my Volvo were also intermittent at first, making diagnosis difficult. The code was related to the rear right ABS sensor. Eventually, the fault became permanent. Given your symptoms and the ABS codes, I'd recommend revisiting those sensor readings carefully. It might be wise to get a professional opinion, as misinterpreting these signals can lead to costly repairs. Considering it's a Lexus GX, a Lexus workshop might be best.

I appreciate your insights. Your Volvo XC90 experience was valuable. I did more in-depth diagnostics focusing on the ABS system based on your recommendation. After the workshop ran diagnostics, the car was free from issues, so the repair cost was 0€. Thanks again for your assistance.

I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo XC90 – hesitant shifting and feeling 'held back.' It turned out to be a faulty ABS sensor sending bad signals to the traction control, which interfered with the torque converter. Have you checked the ABS sensors individually? What diagnostic codes are you seeing?
