Lexus IS AC dead temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Lexus IS diesel experienced issues with a malfunctioning temperature sensor on the heat exchanger, leading to an error light, non-functional AC, and a full error memory. The problem was suspected to be related to the AC control unit. A similar case suggested checking the HVAC system, specifically the temperature sensor calibration. The solution involved replacing the faulty sensor and recalibrating the cooling system, resolving the issue and restoring AC functionality.

HVAC? What exactly did you check in the HVAC? 'Cause honestly, I just poked around looking for obvious loose connections. Any specific components I should be eyeballing?

I'm no expert, but it was the same temp sensor issue. The sensor calibration was way off. Honestly, just take it to a decent workshop. I wasted ages trying to figure it out myself. It will likely cost you around 1000€ to fix.

Cheers! I took your advice and went to a workshop. You were spot on! The temp sensor on the heat exchanger was the culprit, just like you said. New sensor, recalibrated the whole cooling system (they said the engine cooling was being affected too), and now the AC is ice cold again! Cost me 980€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks for the heads up!

I had something similar with my IS. Same symptoms - error codes, AC dead, the whole shebang. Have you checked the HVAC system?
