Lexus IS AC failure

Refrigerant levels seem fine. I suspect a faulty AC compressor. The repair bill is estimated at 980€. The workshop is pointing to a defective air conditioning control unit. Does that sound like what you had?

Control unit...yes, that's ringing a bell. Seems like these Lexus IS AC control units are about as reliable as a chocolate teapot. If the workshop is confident, I'd say get it sorted. It won't fix itself, unfortunately.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll get the AC control unit replaced. Hopefully, that resolves the issue and I can finally get some cold air again.

Sounds familiar. I've got an IS, not sure the year, but same symptoms. AC was blowing hot air, warning lights popping up. It was like the AC system just gave up the ghost. Did you check the basics, like refrigerant level or fuses?
