Lexus IS airbag warning light
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Lexus IS displayed an SRS airbag warning light, with diagnostics indicating a potential issue with a cable or plug connection in the airbag system. A similar experience suggested checking the seatbelt pretensioner connection under the driver's seat, which was found to be loose. Fixing this connection resolved the warning light issue, saving further diagnostic time and cost.

Thanks for the quick reply. Which connection specifically were you referring to? The one for the seatbelt pretensioner, or further back towards the airbag ECU?

Yes, it was indeed the seatbelt pretensioner connection under the driver's seat. Ultimately, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop, but checking those connections first could save you some diagnostic time.

Appreciate the advice. It was indeed a loose pretensioner connection as you suggested. The workshop charged 95€ to diagnose and fix the loose cable. Thanks again!

I had a similar issue with my IS. Have you checked the connections under the seats? Those are often the culprit due to movement and potential interference.
