Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that cable/plug located? Is it easy to get to, or do I need to take apart half the dashboard?

On mine, it was behind the steering wheel column, accessible after removing a plastic cover. But honestly, I’d recommend taking it to a workshop if you're not comfortable fiddling with the electrics. Could get messy and costly if you damage any components.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. They confirmed it was a defective cable connection in the light switch, just like you said. Cost me 95€ to get it fixed. Thanks a lot for your help!

I had a similar problem with my IS. It turned out to be a faulty connection in the light switch. Have you checked the cable and plug connections? That's where I would start looking.
