Lexus IS Diesel Rough Idle Water Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Lexus IS diesel was experiencing rough idling and a check engine light, with error codes pointing to the water sensor. The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection rather than the sensor itself. After visiting a workshop, it was confirmed that the problem was indeed a defective cable, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Good point. How did you diagnose your Astra's issue? Did you have to replace the sensor, or was it wiring as well?

In my case, the garage confirmed it was a faulty sensor. I'd suggest taking your Lexus to a workshop. They can use professional tools for detailed testing and pinpoint it.

Thanks for the insight. I took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out, it was exactly what I suspected. The cable for the component was defective. They fixed it for 95€, and now she's purring like a kitten again. Appreciate the help!

Interesting problem. I had something similar with my old Opel Astra, although the root was different. Engine light, rough running… Are you positive the sensor itself is functional, or might it just be reporting incorrect data?
