Lexus IS electric steering column issue

I'm having an issue with my 2009 Lexus IS diesel. The electric steering column adjustment has stopped working. No warnings on the instrument panel, but diagnostic equipment shows an error in the error memory related to the steering column adjustment motor. The steering column can no longer be adjusted electrically. I've checked the fuses and relay, and they seem fine. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

I had something similar happen in my IS. The electric steering adjustment just stopped working. Have you checked the wiring harness under the dash? Sometimes they can get jostled and cause a bad connection.

Thanks. Could you say where exactly I should be looking for this wiring harness and any specific points of concern?

It's been a while, but from what I remember, it was near the base of the steering column, under the dash. Honestly, it might be worth just taking it to a workshop if you are not that familiar with car electrics. It sounds like it is going to be a similar issue.

Understood. I've had it looked at by a professional, and as suspected, the issue was indeed a faulty connector. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 95€. It's now resolved.
