Lexus IS Engine Start Problem

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2023 Lexus IS hybrid. It has about 199k km on it. Sometimes the engine just won't start. Other times, it starts for a split second and then dies immediately. The computer throws an error code, but I haven't had a chance to pull it yet. Could it be the immobilizer?

Sounds like an immobilizer issue. Ignition control problems can cause those symptoms. Does the error memory mention anything about key recognition?

I haven't checked the code yet. What exactly happens if the key programming is off?

If the key programming is incorrect, the car's computer won't recognize the key's transponder signal. This will prevent the fuel pump and ignition system from activating, causing the engine to stall right after starting, or not start at all. It's best to get it checked at a workshop.

Thanks! You were right, it was the key programming. Took it to a shop and they reprogrammed the key for 45€. Runs perfectly now!
