Thanks for the tip! I have a multimeter, but I'm a total novice when it comes to electrical stuff. Where exactly should I be probing with the multimeter? And what voltage should I be expecting to see? I don’t want to fry anything!

If you're not comfortable with electrics, best not to poke around too much. A faulty fuel filter heater can definitely cause those symptoms. Given the error code and rough running, it's likely that's the culprit. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they can diagnose it properly and replace the heater if needed.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I took it to the shop, and you nailed it – it was a corroded connector on the fuel filter heater. 95€ later, it's fixed and running like a champ again! Thanks for the help!

Sounds like a pain. Have you checked the voltage at the fuel filter heater connector? Could be a simple wiring issue or a faulty connector. If you have a multimeter, it's worth a shot to see if it's getting power.
