Thanks for the tip! I did give the terminals a once-over, but I'll double-check them for corrosion or looseness. When you had the issue, did it eventually throw any error codes, or did you just replace the whole battery?

No error codes showed up for me. I spent ages trying to figure it out, cleaning terminals, checking grounds... eventually, I took it to a workshop and they sorted it out for me.

Appreciate the insight! Sounds like I'm on the right track suspecting the sensor, and probably time to get it checked out by a pro. Estimate I received mentioned around 315€ for the repair, which seems reasonable. Thanks again!

Hey, I have an IS too, and I had similar problems not too long ago! Weak starts and flickering lights. Have you checked the connections to the battery? Sometimes a loose connection can cause voltage drops.
