Lexus IS weak brakes error codes
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Lexus IS hybrid exhibited weak brakes and error codes, potentially due to issues during a recent brake system bleed. A faulty brake booster pressure sensor was identified as a possible cause, affecting brake performance and triggering errors. Diagnostic tools confirmed the sensor's failure, and replacing it resolved the braking issues.

A faulty brake booster pressure sensor, huh? Where is the sensor located, and do I need any special tools to check it? If it is indeed faulty, how difficult is it to replace?

The sensor is typically located on the brake booster or master cylinder. While visual inspection might reveal physical damage, diagnostic tools are essential to read the sensor's output. Given the safety implications of the braking system, it's advisable to consult a workshop for sensor testing and replacement to ensure correct installation and proper brake function. Incorrectly bled brakes can damage components, so getting a second opinion would be prudent.

Thanks a bunch for the tip! I took it to the workshop and, wouldn't you know it, the brake booster pressure sensor was kaput, probably from the incorrect bleeding. 90€ later, with a new sensor installed, my Lexus is braking like a champ again! Really appreciate the help!

I experienced something similar with my Lexus IS. Could the brake booster pressure sensor be the culprit? Have you checked the sensor readings with diagnostic tools to confirm if they align with the actual brake pressure? A faulty sensor can lead to inaccurate pressure readings, resulting in reduced braking performance and triggering error messages.
