Lexus LC Coolant Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Lexus LC owner noticed a check engine light indicating low coolant levels, despite no visible leaks or overheating. Possible causes discussed included a sneaky coolant leak or a faulty radiator cap. A suggestion was made to inspect the water pump area for minor leaks, which can be hard to detect due to evaporation. A pressure test revealed a minor hose leak, which was repaired, resolving the issue.

Interesting. I haven't specifically checked the water pump area yet. When you say 'weep,' do you mean a tiny bit of coolant residue? Was it hard to spot? I'm trying to avoid a costly trip to the workshop if it's something I can handle myself.

Exactly, just a little bit of residue. It was tricky to spot, because it would evaporate from the engine heat. If you're not seeing anything obvious, I'd say it's worth getting it pressure tested. You can buy a kit or just take it to a shop.

I took your suggestion and booked it in for a pressure test. Turns out, there was a minor leak in one of the hoses. They replaced the hose, topped up the coolant, and the total came to 52€. Hopefully, that's the end of it!

I had a similar issue with my LC. I remember topping off the coolant every few weeks. No visible leaks, which was weird. Have you checked around the water pump? Sometimes they weep before they fully fail.
