Lexus LC Error Messages

I own a 2021 Lexus LC with a gasoline engine and 56748 km on the clock. Recently, a fault code appeared, and I'm seeing an error message on both the infotainment system and the speedometer. Could this be due to incorrect vehicle coding? I have a diagnostic scanner, is it safe to reset the codes?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Lexus LC owner experienced error messages on the infotainment system and speedometer, suspecting incorrect vehicle coding as the cause. The issue appeared spontaneously, without recent maintenance or software updates. After consulting with others, it was suggested that a visit to a workshop might be necessary to avoid masking a more serious problem. Ultimately, the workshop confirmed the issue was due to incorrect vehicle coding, resolved by re-flashing the software.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had a similar issue with my 2018 BMW 5 series. Same symptoms: error message and a stored fault code. Before you start resetting things, did the error appear after any specific event, like maintenance or software installs? With my BMW I had a faulty sensor...

The error appeared spontaneously, without any recent maintenance or software installs. Could a faulty sensor really cause such widespread errors across different systems? Is there a risk that resetting the codes with a scan tool might mask a more serious underlying problem? I am unsure about the best course of action. Is a visit to the workshop unavoidable?

With my BMW, the faulty sensor threw everything off, leading to a cascade of error messages. It's hard to say for certain, but considering your Lexus threw multiple errors across different systems, it might be more than a simple glitch. Ignoring those symptoms can lead to more issues, so a workshop visit sounds unavoidable in your case.

Appreciate the advice. I took it to the local workshop; the issue was indeed related to incorrect vehicle coding. They re-flashed the software, and the error messages disappeared. Total cost came to 360€.
