Lexus LC Overheating Issue

I'm experiencing a strange issue with my 2017 Lexus LC hybrid. It's got 123434 km on the clock, and recently the engine has been overheating. Also, it now takes ages to reach normal operating temperature. I suspect it might be the thermostat cooling circuit motor. Has anyone else encountered something similar?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I've got an LC too. I had a very similar problem last year. My mechanic mentioned something about a defective map thermostat being the culprit. Did you check your coolant levels? Any weird noises coming from the thermostat housing area?

Interesting! Coolant levels are fine, and I haven't noticed any unusual noises specifically. When you say 'defective map thermostat', are you referring to the thermostat housing itself, or a sensor related to it? Trying to narrow down the possibilities here.

Yeah, I meant the thermostat housing itself. Apparently, it's a common issue on these cars. Honestly, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a good workshop. Could save you a lot of headaches down the line! I ended up paying around 350€ for the repair if it helps.

Thanks for the info! That's super helpful. I'll book it in with a specialist and mention the thermostat housing. Sounds like that's the most likely cause. Hopefully, it'll be a straightforward fix!
