Lexus LC Overheating Radiator Fan Speed Sensor

Hi, I have a 2021 Lexus LC hybrid. Recently, the engine overheated, and the check engine light came on. I've checked the coolant level, and it seems fine. Could it be a radiator fan issue?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Lexus LC hybrid experienced engine overheating with a check engine light, despite normal coolant levels. The issue was suspected to be related to the radiator fan, specifically the fan speed sensor. A similar case suggested that loud fan noise could indicate a defective speed sensor, which is typically part of the fan assembly. The problem was resolved by replacing the radiator fan, confirming the initial suspicion.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

I had similar overheating problems on my LC. Loud fan noise too? If so, it's likely the radiator fan speed sensor. I wouldn't drive it much until you get it checked.

Loud fan noise yes, now that you mention it. Is the speed sensor integrated into the fan motor or is it separate?

Yep, sounds like the same issue. I'm pretty sure it's part of the fan assembly, but don't quote me on that. I took mine to a shop, they sorted it pretty quickly.

Thanks for the heads up. Turns out the speed sensor was defective, like you said. Got the radiator fan replaced for 250€. Appreciate the help!
