Lexus LC rain light sensor fault
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Lexus LC is experiencing a rain-light sensor fault, affecting the automatic wiping mode, headlight control, and speedometer dimming, with lights remaining constantly on. The issue is likely due to bubbles forming under the gel pad of the windshield, disrupting the sensor's function. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle inspected and repaired at a workshop, which successfully resolved the problem.

Thank you for the insight. No visible damage or obstructions are apparent. Did your BMW exhibit the same issue with the lights remaining constantly on?

Yes, the headlights staying on was definitely part of the problem with my BMW. It turned out bubbles had formed under the gel pad of the windshield. The sensor couldn't read correctly and that caused all sorts of issues. Considering there are no visible obstructions, I'd advise taking it to a workshop; they can properly diagnose it. I'm confident it is the auto sensor that is failing.

Much appreciated. I followed your advice and took the vehicle to a workshop. They confirmed the bubbles under the gel pad. Repair cost was 62€. Thank you again!

Interesting. I encountered something similar with my 2018 BMW 5 series. The symptoms you describe sound very familiar. The rain sensor went haywire, and it affected other systems that rely on it. Have you checked for any visible damage or obstructions on the windshield around the sensor?
