Lexus LC Reduced Engine Power

Alright, car gurus, I'm officially stumped. I've got a 2023 Lexus LC with a gasoline engine, and it's throwing a fit. Only 42820 km on the clock! I'm getting seriously reduced engine power, like it's being held back, and the car's computer is throwing error codes left and right. I plugged in my OBD2 scanner, and it's showing a bunch of control system errors. I've tried a system reset, but no dice. Could this be fried automotive electronics? I'm no expert, but could a defective relay mess things up this badly and hurt engine performance?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Lexus LC is experiencing reduced engine power and multiple error codes, suggesting control system issues. The problem persists despite attempts to reset the system, leading to speculation about potential causes such as defective automotive electronics or a faulty relay. The issue was ultimately traced to a defective main relay, which was replaced to resolve the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there! Sounds frustrating. I had a similar issue with my 2018 Audi A5. It wasn't exactly the same, but I also experienced reduced power and a ton of error codes popping up. You mentioned trying a system reset – did the error codes disappear temporarily, or did they just come right back? Wondering if it's a persistent problem or something intermittent.

Thanks for the reply! The error codes come right back almost instantly. I clear them, start the engine, and BAM, they're there again. So definitely a persistent problem. What was the fix for your Audi? Maybe it'll give me some clues. Was it something with the car diagnostics?

Okay, that sounds pretty consistent, unfortunately. In my case, the Audi's issue ended up being a faulty sensor. The computer kept getting incorrect data, which caused it to limit the engine's performance. Given your Lexus is still pretty new, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop. They'll have the proper tools and software to diagnose the Lexus control system specifically. It could save you a lot of time and potentially prevent further damage.

Appreciate the advice! You were spot on, turns out the main relay was defective. Cost me 120€ at the shop, but at least it's fixed. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
