Lexus LC sudden power loss

Alright, I'm officially stumped. My 2017 Lexus LC with a gasoline engine is throwing me a curveball. Anyone else experiencing sudden power loss and a check engine light? It feels like the car is stuck in limp mode. Initially, I was suspecting bad fuel, or maybe clogged filters, but now I am leaning toward a faulty throttle position sensor. I have cleared the errors and they reappear after a few minutes after depressing the accelerator pedal. Could a defective accelerator pedal module or its electronics be the culprit? Anyone encountered this gremlin before?

I had similar issues of check engine and reduced engine power with my LC. Have you noticed any fluctuations in your fuel efficiency? And, out of curiosity, does the check engine light come on immediately after the engine starts, or only after driving for a while? Also, how many kilometers on the odometer?

Good questions! Fuel efficiency has definitely taken a hit, now that you mention it. The check engine light seems to appear always after driving for a few minutes, particularly when I accelerate. The car has about 210384 kilometers. This might be a throttle valve problem?

Yes, those were exactly my symptoms. It turned out the throttle valve itself was defective. Unfortunately, it's not something you can easily diagnose or repair yourself without specialized equipment. I would suggest taking it to a trusted mechanic. My repair ended costing me 265€ and resolved the issue.

Thanks for the insight! I really appreciate it. I'll definitely take it to my mechanic and mention the throttle valve specifically based on your experience. I hope it resolves my issue too!
