Lexus LC System Readiness Error

I've got a 2017 Lexus LC 500h (hybrid) with just under 40k km. I ran an OBD2 diagnostic check and now I'm getting a 'System readiness check incomplete' error, with a persistent error message in the speedometer. The car seems to drive fine, but I'm concerned about failing an emissions test. Has anyone else experienced this after using an OBD2 scanner?

Summary of the thread

A 2017 Lexus LC 500h owner experienced a 'System readiness check incomplete' error after running an OBD2 diagnostic, raising concerns about potential emissions test failure. The issue appears to be related to the ECU not fully resetting after the diagnostic check. A similar case was resolved by having a workshop clear the error, which was a quick and simple fix. The owner followed this advice, had the error memory reset at a shop, and resolved the issue without any cost.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. I've got an LC too, and something similar happened last year after a car diagnostics. I kept getting the same error, even though everything seemed normal. Was it related to the exhaust system check?

That's the weird thing! I'm not getting any specific codes related to the exhaust system, just the generic 'System readiness check incomplete' message. Were you able to clear it yourself, or did you have to take it to a shop? What kind of diagnostics did you do? Just a basic scan for error codes?

I tried everything I could think of to clear it myself, but no luck. Eventually, I took it to the workshop. They told me it was something to do with the ECU not fully resetting after the OBD2 read. They cleared it within 5 minutes. Felt like I was paying them to plug it in and press a button. I did a complete car diagnostics and vehicle inspection. I think you should be fine.

Thanks for the insight! Sounds like I'm dealing with the same issue. Good to know it's likely a quick fix at the shop. Appreciate you sharing your experience! I went to the shop and got it fixed, they just reset the error memory. Cost 0€! Unbelievable!
