Lexus LC Throttle Valve Issue

I've got a 2022 Lexus LC with a gasoline engine and about 133k kilometers on it. Recently, I've noticed higher fuel consumption than usual, and the car is starting poorly. After doing some digging, it seems like the throttle valve might be defective. Could a defective accelerator pedal module cause these symptoms? Any thoughts?

Whoa, that's a bummer! Higher fuel consumption and rough starts are definitely annoying. It kinda sounds like when you're trying to run a marathon with a clogged air intake. Is the engine idle acting weird at all? I'd be curious about the throttle body itself. Have you checked for any obvious gunk buildup around the throttle valve?

Thanks for the quick response! The engine idle does seem a bit rougher than usual, now that you mention it. As for the throttle body, I haven't had a chance to check it yet. But if the accelerator pedal module is faulty, could that still cause issues even if the throttle body seems clean?

Okay, rough idle AND those other problems? Dude, that sounds even more like a faulty accelerator pedal module messing with the car throttle, even if the throttle body looks okay. At that mileage, it's not totally surprising. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic to get it diagnosed properly. You don't want to start throwing parts at it and making things worse!

Appreciate the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. It was indeed the accelerator pedal module causing the throttle valve issue. Got it replaced for 205€, and now everything seems to be running smoothly again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
