Lexus LC Transmission Control Unit Issue

Lexus aficionados, my 2022 Lexus LC gasoline has a parking position issue with the automatic transmission. At 26,772 kilometers, the engine won't start, the check engine light is on, and the gearbox slips. Scans point to a defective control unit. Anyone else experience this? I suspect a gear linkage or transmission failure, maybe the gear shifter or neutral position sensor. Could this be related to the park brake system?

Hey, I had something similar happen with my LC. Check engine light, rough shifting, wouldn't start sometimes. Turned out to be a wonky sensor related to the transmission. Is it throwing any specific error codes?

Thanks! The diagnostic tool revealed an error code indicating a malfunction within the transmission control unit. Was your issue definitively a faulty sensor, or did the problem extend to the control unit itself? And if it was a sensor, was it difficult to replace?

Mine was diagnosed as a faulty sensor, thankfully. But honestly, I'd just get it to a workshop. These modern systems are so interconnected, it's hard to be sure without the right tools. Best to have them properly diagnose it before throwing parts at it. Could save you money.

I appreciate your counsel. I entrusted my LC to a qualified workshop. As suspected, the control unit was defective and needed replacement. The repair cost about 1000€. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
