Lexus LC Transmission Issues

Hey, my 2018 Lexus LC with the gasoline engine is acting up. I'm getting some weird transmission behavior. Paddle shifters don't work, the gearbox slips, and there are grinding noises when shifting. Paddle shifters are slow to respond, and the gearbox went into emergency mode. Error memory isn't empty either. Could a defective transmission control unit cause all this?

Oh wow, that sounds eerily familiar! I had a similar experience with my LC. Could it be the transmission control module acting up? Is it possible it's sending faulty signals and messing with the shifting patterns?

Interesting. You think it's the transmission control module? What symptoms did you experience and how did you end up fixing the problem? Did the error memory also have errors?

Indeed! My LC exhibited similar symptoms, including the emergency mode and shifting issues. After consulting with a trusted technician, the diagnosis pointed towards a defective control unit. Replacing the unit resolved all the issues and brought my LC back to its optimal performance. I would strongly recommend you get it checked by a workshop.

Thanks for the input! I had the car at the workshop, and the diagnosis confirmed your suspicion: the transmission control unit was defective and caused all of the described issues. Replacement is estimated to cost 1000€. Thanks again for your help!
