Hey, thanks for the tip! Seems like I'm walking the same path as you. It's comforting to hear that it worked out for you after getting the sensor replaced. I've begun my hunt for a reliable mechanic now, hopefully it'll turn out better than the last time. By the way, do you remember roughly how much you shelled out for this repair? Also, since you've had it fixed, did any other issues crop up or has your Lexus been running smooth since then? Cheers!
Hey! No problem at all, happy to share my experience. When I had the Sensor wheel on the camshafts fixed, it cost me a pretty penny, but it was worth it! I shelled out about 695€ for the job. Following the repair, my Lexus has been purring like a kitten! Since I saw the mechanic and got that camshaft sensor malfunction sorted, I haven't run into any other issues. So, rest assured, once you've got that pesky sensor fixed, things should go back to smooth highway cruising! Just remember to find a mechanic you can trust. Cheers!
Ah that relief knowing my LFA will be back to her best once that sensor's done gives me some peace of mind. Thanks for giving me the rough estimate as well, it's good to have a ballpark figure when it's dealing with mechanics, you know? Glad to hear your Lexus has been running smooth ever since. I'm kind of looking forward to that smooth highway cruising already. Let me find a reliable mechanic and get my ride sorted. Thanks again for the help, really appreciate it. Cheers!
Hey there, I definitely feel your pain. I had a pretty similar situation with my own ride, a 2010 Lexus LFA, not too long ago. I too faced the same gremlins - engine light, choppy idle, and poor acceleration were all too familiar. Sounds like camshaft position sensor to me. My mechanic checked it out and confirmed that the fault was indeed with the camshaft sensor wheel. Had it fixed and since then it's been smooth sailing. I have to admit, it was indeed a hefty job considering the sensor is directly linked to the car's Computer system and any misread can potentially damage the engine. So it's not a minor issue, but don't worry too much. Just get it checked out ASAP. And remember, not all mechanics are bad. There are good ones too. Just sounds like you need to shop around a bit more. Good luck!
