Lexus LFA Audio System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Lexus LFA owner is experiencing a complete failure of the audio system, with no sound and an error stored in the system memory. Despite checking the fuses, the issue persists, leading to speculation about a possible display failure. Another owner with a similar issue suggests that while a head unit replacement solved their problem, a defective display is also a common cause. It is recommended to consult a qualified Lexus technician for an accurate diagnosis before proceeding with repairs.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hmm, that's a good point. I don't recall any static or crackling. The audio quality seemed normal right up until it stopped working. Do you remember what the solution was for your issue? Was it definitely the head unit?

While the symptoms are similar, the absence of static noise prior to failure in your case might indicate a slightly different problem. In my situation, replacing the head unit resolved it, although I’ve since learned that a defective display is not uncommon. Considering the stored error and potential repair cost, I would suggest consulting a qualified Lexus technician for a precise diagnosis before replacing any parts.

Thanks so much for the insight! I appreciate you sharing your experience. Sounds like a trip to the workshop is definitely in order. They quoted me 725€ for a display replacement, so I'll let you know how it goes!

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my LFA, though mine was producing terrible static noise before cutting out completely. Did you notice any speaker crackle or degradation in audio quality leading up to the total failure? It could be faulty wiring, but the stored error points to something more significant.
