Lexus LFA Headlight Range Control Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Lexus LFA owner experienced a headlight range control fault, with low beams shining incorrectly and a warning light appearing. The issue was suspected to be a defective servomotor. After consulting a specialist, it was confirmed that the servomotor within the headlight assembly was faulty, and replacing and recalibrating it resolved the problem.

Intriguing! Could you elaborate on the 'sensor thing' you encountered with your BMW? Was it a sensor specifically related to the headlight leveling system, and do you recall any details about its location or function?

Yeah, it was definitely for the headlights. I don't know much more, sorry! I just took it to a workshop and they sorted it out pretty quickly. Probably best to do the same.

Based on your suggestion, I consulted with a Lexus specialist. It was indeed a defective servomotor within the headlight assembly. The replacement and recalibration cost 1040€. While expensive, I'm relieved to have the lighting system restored.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my old BMW 3 series. Same symptoms: warning light and the headlights pointing at the ground. Turned out to be a sensor thing. Maybe it's the same for you?
