Lexus LFA Reduced Engine Power

My 2011 Lexus LFA with its gasoline V10 is throwing a wrench into my weekend. Getting reduced engine power and the error memory is lit up. I scanned it and a fault code popped up. Could this be a faulty chip tune?

Sounds familiar. Had the same deal with my old BMW M3, different engine of course, but same symptoms: power loss and error codes. Turned out some dodgy tuning was the culprit. Did you install any third-party performance chips lately?

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. The previous owner installed an aftermarket tune. So, what exactly went wrong with your BMW's tune? Was it something obvious?

The tune was too aggressive for the engine's parameters. The dealer ended up reflashing the ECU to the original software. They suggested removing the chip altogether. My advice? Take it to a trusted shop, they'll know exactly what's up and can check your LFA's computer.

Good call! I took it to a shop, and you nailed it. Turns out the chip tune was causing all sorts of issues. They reverted it back to the stock settings, and the error is gone. Cost me 180€, but well worth it. Thanks for the help!
