Ignition coil, huh? I haven't looked at those specifically. Is it difficult to check them, and what exactly should I be looking for?

Well, in my case with the BMW, the mechanic found that the cable to one of the coils was loose. Apparently, that's a common issue, causing a misfire. The symptoms were almost identical to yours. I would recommend getting it checked out at the workshop. I ended up paying 80€ for the new ignition coil and 15€ for the labour. It could be a similar problem.

Thanks for the insight! I took your advice and brought it to a trusted mechanic. You were spot on – turned out to be a defective ignition coil, just like you said! The cable connection was faulty. The final bill was 95€, and now she's running smooth again. Really appreciate the help!

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old BMW a while back: rough running, check engine light. Does it feel like a misfire? For me, it turned out to be a faulty ignition coil. Have you checked those?
