Lexus LFA Sun Blind Failure
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around a 2010 Lexus LFA experiencing a sun blind failure, where it won't retract or extend and is accompanied by an error message. The issue is likely due to a malfunctioning motor, as suggested by another owner who faced a similar problem. The recommended solution is to have the vehicle serviced at a workshop to address the motor issue, as it involves delicate components.

Yeah, it's completely silent. No whirring, no struggling, nothing. Just dead as a doornail. Like the motor went on vacation. You mentioned a similar issue, what was it in your case?

Ah, silent is not good. Mine started with some struggling and weird noises before it quit completely. In my case, it was indeed the motor. Seems like a weak point in these otherwise awesome machines. I'd bet good money it's the same for you. You're probably looking at a workshop visit. I wouldn't risk messing with it myself; like a watch, there are a lot of small and fragile parts.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I was hoping it was something simple, but a dead motor makes sense. I'll book it in at the workshop then. They quoted me around 330€ for the repair. Hopefully, that'll sort it. Appreciate the help!

Hmm, sounds familiar. I've got an LFA too, and had a similar problem with the sun visor. Is it making any noise when you try to use it, like a faint whirring sound? Or is it completely dead? Could be something blocking it, but an error message makes me think otherwise.
