Lexus LS ABS and Lateral Acceleration Sensor Fault

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2012 Lexus LS hybrid. The ABS lamp lights up, leading to ABS failure, and an error is stored related to the lateral acceleration sensor. Mileage is at 117205 km. Suspect a defective control unit. Any insights?

Sounds similar to what happened with my Volvo V60 a while back. Same ABS symptoms, same sensor fault. Did you check the steering angle sensor or yaw rate sensor readings? A misaligned wheel can sometimes throw things off too, creating phantom signals.

Interesting. You mentioned wheel alignment causing issues. How does that relate to the lateral acceleration sensor fault? Just trying to understand the connection before I start tearing things apart.

Think of it like this: if the car 'thinks' it's constantly turning more than it is due to bad alignment, the stability control gets confused. The lateral acceleration sensor reports data conflicting with the steering angle, triggering the fault. My workshop confirmed the sensor issue. I recommend you to go there before start working on your own.

Understood. Thanks for clarifying. I'll get the alignment checked first and then take it to a workshop for a deeper dive. Looks like a 1000€ job. Appreciate the insight.
