Lexus LS Engine Problems

The key feels normal, no different than usual. The immobilizer is an interesting thought. I haven't seen any warning lights to suggest that's the problem. If the ignition switch itself is failing, would a defective fuse somewhere cause that?

A bad ignition switch can act like a fuse issue, causing intermittent power loss. It's difficult to diagnose without proper testing. It could be the source of your troubles. I'd advise a workshop visit.

Thanks, I appreciate the input. You were spot on - the ignition switch was faulty due to a defective fuse. 52€ later and it's running like new!

Sounds like a dodgy ignition switch. Does the key feel normal when you turn it, or is it loose? Have you considered a failing immobilizer? If it was the hybrid system, there would be a different set of warnings.
