Lexus LS Limp Mode Issue

My 2008 Lexus LS hybrid with 56487 km is showing signs of a transfer case issue. It's going into limp mode, and the gearbox shifts roughly. I suspect it might be related to the ABS. Has anyone else experienced a similar powertrain problem?

I had a similar problem with my old Audi A6. Limp home mode and rough shifting were the main symptoms. For me, it was a control module sending bad data. Have you checked the gear selector for any obvious problems?

Thanks. I haven't checked the gear selector myself. What kind of issues did you have with the control module? Did you notice any other strange behavior before the limp mode became constant?

My Audi also had torque converter issues. Considering the symptoms and the possible ABS connection you mentioned, a proper diagnosis is best. Intermittent problems are tough; a workshop should be able to pinpoint it.
