Lexus LS passenger seat error

I've got a 2000 Lexus LS with a gasoline engine and the passenger side electric seat isn't working. There's an error stored, and I can't adjust the seat. The car has 172351 km on it. I checked the battery, and it seems heavily discharged. Could that be the problem?

Hey, I had something similar happen in my LS a while back. Is it completely dead, or just acting weird? Check the seat wiring harness under the seat; sometimes they get loose or damaged. Could also be a fuse. It's worth a shot before you start tearing things apart!

When you had a similar issue with your LS, did the error memory also indicate a fault? Also, where exactly is the seat wiring harness located, and what kind of damage should I look for?

Yeah, the error memory lit up like a Christmas tree! Honestly, I'm not the best with car electrics. The harness is basically all the wires plugged into the seat motor under the seat. I'd say just take it to a workshop. They'll sort it out faster than you trying to chase wires, trust me.

I'll take your advice and consult a technician. I got a quote of 290€ for the repair, which seems reasonable.
